Scripture Promises

The Bible is filled with Scripture promises that will give you peace, hope, encouragement, strength, provision, and so much more. I’ve compiled a few scriptures that have sustained me throughout the whole ordeal of Steve’s stroke. My prayer is that they will be a blessing to you as well.

Peace

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!” Isaiah 26:3

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” John 16:33

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called…The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts…” Colossians 3:15

Strength

(These Scriptures give me hope, and I proclaim them often for myself and for the strengthening of Steve’s body.)

‘Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10

“And I will strengthen them in the LORD, and in His name they will walk,” declares the LORD.” Zechariah 10:12

He said to me, ”My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me…For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

“…they brought Him (Jesus) all who were sick, those afflicted with various diseases and torments…and paralyzed people, and He healed them.” Matthew 4:24

“And He (Jesus) entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand….He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.” Mark 3:1,5

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

“Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.” Psalms 144:1

“The Lord is the strength of my life…” Psalms 27:1

“Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” Ephesians 6:10

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

“Your God has commanded your strength; Show Yourself strong, O God, who have acted on our behalf.” Psalms 68:28

“…it was not their own strength that gave them victory. It was by Your mighty power that they succeeded; it was because You favored them and smiled on them. You are my King and my God. You command victories for your people.” Psalms 44:3-4

Trusting God

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

“He will not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord.” Psalm 118:17

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” Psalms 118:8

“He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” Daniel 2:22

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

“But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.” Jeremiah 17:7

“For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”  Psalms 5:12

“All things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23

“For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.” Luke 1:37

…Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:2

“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?” Jeremiah 32:27

“Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You.” Jeremiah 32:17

“I, the LORD, am your healer.” Exodus 15:26

“All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.” Habakkuk 3:17-19

Guidance

(I declare these scriptures whenever I need guidance in making decisions.)

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8

“…the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.”  Numbers 10:33

“For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”  Psalms 5:12

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” Psalms 32:8

“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:17

Promises for Provision

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure – pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” Luke 6:38

2 Corinthians 9:6-12

6[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.

7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].

8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

9 As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever!

10 And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity].

11 Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God.

12 For the service that the ministering of this fund renders does not only fully supply what is lacking to the saints (God’s people), but it also overflows in many [cries of] thanksgiving to God. AMP

“He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.” Proverbs 22:9

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. Then I will rebuke the devourer for you… ” Malachi 3:10-11

“And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.” Proverbs 13:22

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32

“We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.” 1 Corinthians 2:12

“…For all things belong to you, and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God.” 1 Corinthians 3:21-23

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in You!” Psalms 84:11-12

“If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29

“And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]; only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory.”  Romans 8:17

“And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten…And you shall eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord, your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you. And My people shall never be put to shame.” Joel 2:25-26
