Sciatica Pain Relief Needed
Steve can’t roll over in bed by himself yet, so instead of calling for a nurse at night, he just suffers with the sciatica pain. He feels like he’s such a bother to them, but they tell me that he’s their favorite patient.
Also, he has lost his appetite and is barely eating anything. He’s says it’s too much work to eat. I never thought I’d hear him say that, because he loved to eat. But he needs to keep up his strength, so they are giving him a protein shake which he likes, but he doesn’t eat more than 600-700 calories a day.
He’s very exhausted from the therapy sessions and the aftermath of the stroke (also known as a brain attack). Please pray that he will be strengthened to endure and not give up. In the therapy sessions, he tends to become very distracted and is slow in focusing his attention on the therapist’s commands. The doctor has asked us not to go to therapy with him because it’s just another distraction for him. This is such huge change for him because he could always carry on a conversation, read the paper and watch TV at the same time. This is one of the consequences of a right brain injury. So please pray that he will become alert and attentive to carry out those directives.

this has been so good for me to read as I have hated putting myhusband through all of this – I had a stroke in ’08in India so the hospital course was different no OT there for one thing my husband kept our friends and family updated using caringbridge.com and it was very humbling to know that through our friends and that site their were people praying for me in churches temples, mosques, and synagogues all over the world, please forgive typos still typing w/one hand : (, but walking well w/an afo
