Every day Steve is showing remarkable improvement in his stroke recovery. Yesterday he walked 50 ft. with the cane assisted by one therapist. Their goal for him is to walk 150 ft. Today Steve took his first WALK with a cane! It was a very emotional day for us as I videotaped him walking. He went about 12 ft. assisted by one therapist who helped him move the left foot forward. At 8:30 tonight Steve was still at Bellin Rehab Unit hooked up to IVs with a stronger antibiotic and saline for dehydration. Dr. Davis who specializes in infections looked at Steve and suspects cellulitis of the eyes or a staph infection that got on the inside of him, which can be deadly.
