Thank you for your prayers. Your husband has youth on his side, and I pray he'll stay encouraged and work hard at his recovery. Pain can be a big deterrent in stroke recovery, so I hope he can get some relief. His shoulder pain may be due to shoulder dislocation (subluxation) from the weight of his dangling arm pulling it out of joint. If that's the case, I urge you to quickly get his arm supported with the proper sling. Steve's shoulder pain got worse because it was weeks after his stroke before his arm was properly supported, and it's hard to undo the damage that was done. The best sling that we could find was the GivMohr. It's not perfect, but it's better than others we tried. Wishing you the best in your stroke recovery journey.

My husband 49 also had a huge rmca stroke with his left side affected. His stroke was April of this year and he has been home now almost 3 weeks. He is just starting to walk very little and weak but I know he will get there. We have to see an orthopedic Dr this week because of very bad shoulder pain that is effecting his ot. He only has some small thumb reflex. I do not ask Drs what his recovery will be because I know he will make a full recovery in time. I will keep your husband in my prayers. Kati
