Stroke Survivor’s Hand Function Improves

Today in occupational therapy the Ness H200 was used on Steve to improve hand function. The Hand Rehabilitation System made by Bioness was attached to his left arm and programmed to send electrical impulses to the nerves in his fingers. With the push of a button, Steve was able to open his hand and grasp some pegs out of a peg board. He has been able to grasp with his left hand, but he is yet unable to open and release on his own. The Ness H200 will try to stimulate the brain to make new pathways to the nerves in Steve’s arm. As his hand function improves, he will be able to do this on his own.
