Milestones in Stroke Recovery Reached

Last week we returned the hospital bed. Praise God that we don’t need that any more!! The wheelchair now stays in the garage and Steve uses it only outside. We don’t need the ramp to the front door any more either, but because it’s so heavy to move, we’ll just leave it there in case we get visitors from other wheelchair users.

He’s getting some good movement in his arm, and he’s able to slightly open his fingers. So we’re thankful that he continues to show improvement.

The big news is that he qualifies for one-on-one therapy at the CP Pool. So instead of the group class, he’s going back with his therapist which is so much better.

Steve’s been having difficulty breathing. Sometimes it’s very hard for him to catch his breath, but that’s been going on for several months. He will be seeing a chiropractor and hopefully that will help. I’ll let you know how that goes. Please pray that this condition will be resolved. All the little setbacks he’s had make coping with the stroke much harder for him.

But we’re thankful for all the milestones that have been reached in his recovery, and we’re also very thankful for all your prayers for both of us. You are such a blessing to us, and your prayers and encouragement help so much. Thank you!
