Seizure Thwarted by the Power of God

Ten days ago around 7:30 AM Steve started to have another seizure. I was downstairs and he was still in bed. He felt it come on with the side of his tongue getting thick and his head starting to swim. He couldn’t talk, but he was able to bang his fist on the wall behind the headboard of the bed. I heard the noise and came running to see what was wrong. One look in his eyes and I could tell it was the onset of a seizure, but I asked him if it was and he nodded yes.

Immediately I prayed and took authority over the seizure in the name of Jesus Christ and commanded it to stop. And it did…instantly!

Steve recovered within a minute or two and was able to talk, telling me how he recognized the onset of the seizure from his experience with the last two, so he alerted me in the only way he could. This would have been the third seizure in three months. He is on no anti-seizure meds because he cannot tolerate the side-effects, and the medication is only 67% effective in preventing seizures. Steve is in the 33% group where it doesn’t work. We were told that once a seizure starts, there is nothing we can do to stop it. But the power of God has dominion over the physical realm, and nothing is impossible with Him!

This act of God greatly encouraged both of us. Many times we pray and don’t see immediate answers so it can be discouraging sometimes, because we’re wondering if God is listening or doing anything. Then suddenly He shows Himself powerful on our behalf. The same Jesus who stilled the storm and calmed the wind and waves, stilled this seizure. Praise God! He is not limited. All things are possible to him who believes. If you abide in Christ and His words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. I am so thankful that He is my Lord and Savior!
